Purpose of role:
The Senior Project Manager will be responsible for overseeing a range of projects at different stages of development; ensuring planning, delivery, quality and budget are appropriately managed.

Requiring excellent communication, influencing and collaboration skills to organise resources within R&D and the broader organisation.

Working with the rest of the PPM (project and portfolio management) function to oversee the R&D portfolio of projects and build a centre of excellence in project management.

Key Responsibilities:

Build and maintain strong working relationships between a broad range of parties
Manage project timelines, identify and resolve any issues which impact on project progress
Prioritise and effectively handle multiple projects at different stages of the drug development process
Oversight and management of project budgets
Development of project strategy in collaboration with the PPM function and/or the asset team
Undertake any other reasonable tasks requested by the Executive Director of Project & Portfolio Management to ensure the smooth running of Projects
Takes responsibility for personal learning and development in order to reach, and maintain the required level of skills, knowledge and experience to perform the role
Mentoring other members of the team when required.

Key Skills required to do the role:

A graduate in a science field or equivalent experience
Extensive experience in the pharmaceutical industry, with an in-depth knowledge of the drug development process.
Ability to apply best practice project management tools strategically.
Excellent communication, influencing and collaboration skills
A self-starting and solutions-oriented mindset
Proactive and highly motivational personal style.
A scientific background with a high degree of business acumen and the ability to prioritise and effectively manage multiple projects at different stages of the drug development process
